IPPO Scheme

Sussex Police chairs the Safer Hastings Partnership’s Identified Prolific & other Priority Offenders (IPPO) Group.

The group brings together partner agencies across Hastings & St Leonards to form and sustain initiatives to meet the targets set in the Safer Hastings Strategy 2005-08. Their target is:

  • To achieve all Home Office Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The group has a number of key tasks by which it aims to achieve this target. These tasks are:

  • Secure funding for additional resources for offender interventions
  • Work with East Sussex Drug & Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) to ensure that data-sharing protocols are developed and identify resources to ensure protocols are implemented
  • Use the National Intelligence Model as a basis to identify offenders for offender-based inter-agency work
  • Seek funding to pilot the secondment of a police officer to work within the Hastings & Rother YOT
  • Sustain current Hastings And Rother Prolific Offenders Scheme (HARPOS)

The IPPO group aims to reduce offending by those criminals who have the greatest impact on the community by means of targeting their offending patterns of behaviour. They are achieving this by ensuring that the multi-agency approach is adopted towards this work.
